Morning Sickness

Morning sickness / Nausea

When you hear MORNING sickness 🤢 you may feel a bit tricked, since it lasts all day long...and it feels terrible. But we have great news: nausea and vomiting typically subside between weeks 12 to 16 of pregnancy, with symptoms at their worst between weeks 10 to 16. Some bad news: there are some women who continue to experience it through the 2nd Trimester.

WHY 🤷🏼‍♀️:

  • Increased level of pregnancy hormons 📈
  • Sharper sence of smell👃🏻
  • Rising levels of estrogen and progesterone
  • Metallic taste that many women exoerience during pregnancy 👅
  • Excess saliva
  • (Toothpaste is a common trigger)

  • Sensitive stomach: if you are mostly having carsick or seasick 🤢
  • Stress 🤯
  • First - time pregnancy 🤰🏼
  • Hot weather 🌞
  • Genetics 🧬

It is really important to mention that everybody’s different, while one of the cures works for somebody, it doesn’t mean it is gonna work for you and reverse. We tried to collect as many remedies as we heard and experienced, and feel free to try some of them!

  • Drops, Candy, Biscuit, Gum 🍬🍪: You can easily find them in the closest drugstore. Peppermint and ginger are common to help relief nausea, such as lemon🍋 and orange🍊, so don’t hesitate to try these sour sucking candies 🍬!
    Many women experienced: only
while they are eating (chewing), they don’t feel nausea; means ➡️ You need to chew all the time: GUM
  • Herbal Teas 🫖: Getting enough fluids is more important than eating early on in pregnancy. You might find a carbonated drink or some types of pregnancy-safe herbal tea (especially with lemon or ginger) helpful at easing nausea. If drinking and eating at the same time strains your digestive tract, sip on fluids between meals.
  • Toothpaste 🦷: Toothpaste can be also a trigger, change it and see if it helps!
  • Alternative remedies: A wide variety of complementary medical approaches can help minimize the symptoms of morning sickness, including acupuncture 🦯, acupressure ( there are wistbands for morning sickness on Aliexpress for a couple of cents, try them), biofeedback or hypnosis. They’re definitely worth a try, especially if nothing else works.

Online you can find a lot of good tips to how to get rid of nausea and vommiting, but before you would try something, always talk to your doctor 👩🏼‍⚕️.
