Did you know that almost 90% of women get stretch marks during pregnancy?
Hips, breast, legs, upper arms, back and under pubic hair... these are the most common spots where you can get them.
Most people think stretch marks are due to genetic, but it’s not entirely true...
Here are some products which can help you:
-
Hydration 💦🚰
Even actresses and supermodels are telling us that the secret to a beautiful skin is drinking a lot of water daily. Now imagine that women’s blood volume will increase 50% when they are pregnant, so they need enough fluid to support their body’s basic body functions. A lot of women don’t like water and in that case guess who is going to take the biggest hit: OUR SKIN. This can be one of the reasons to get those marks!
(If you are in the group, and you also don’t like drinking water that much or just forget it, check out our Water Bottle. With the cup is going to feel better to drink, even if it’s only water. With the portable bottle you don’t need to refill the glass all the time, and it is going to be with you everywhere you go, so you are not going to forget to drink regularly. - Creams/ Butters 🧴
A good moisturizer really absorbs the skin and softenes it. Our favourites are shea- and coconut butters. Before you buy a stretch mark cream, take a close look at its ingredients to ensure that it doesn’t contain potentially harmful chemicals like phthalates and parabens.
The best if these creams contain: vitamin A, C, E, and collagen.
Shea butter is really rich in vitamin A, which helps to increase skin elasticity. Shea butter is proven to heal and prevent the most common skin problems such as stretch marks, wrinkles, dry skin, scars, burns and others. Our Shea Butter is made with a formula rich with natural ingredients and vitamins that are gentle on the skin. This clarifying solution treats the skin without any toxic chemicals or additives that can further dry and damage the skin, which is really imprtant, since with pregnancy you need to avoid chemicals or additives.
Coconut Butter: Cocoa Beans are rich in polyphenols, flavonoids and Vitamin E. Some of the antioxidants remain in Cocoa Butter even after it’s separated from the beans’ solids, which means it’s beneficial for lowering inflammation, improving skin health, and helping to improve the overall skin tone, elasticity and the appearance of stretch marks. Studies demonstrated a positive effect on skin structure, mainly collagen production. Check out our the famous Palmer’s Cocoa Butter here. - Oils
Oils lock the hydration what creams and butters already absorbed into the skin, and help with the elasticity. Let’s check our two favourite oils for stretch marks:
Bio Oil: If you prefer applying an oil as opposed to a cream to prevent or treat stretch marks, Bio-Oil is a top seller. Its also clinically proven and dermatologist tested to not only treat scars but also improve dull aging skin so you can use it all over your body.Bio-Oil is made of a blend of oils that help add moisture to your skin helping it stretch as your belly gets bigger and aid in restoration postpartum. Reviewers remark it worked well for them during pregnancy and they continued to use the bottle which lasts a long time afterward. Some note that since it is an oil it can be a bit messy to apply. Check the top-seller oil here.
Rosehip oil: Rosehip seed oil is a true skin hero. It's been used in cultures around the world to help smooth away stretch marks and wrinkles for years. Containing omegas and vitamins, this easily-absorbed oil has proven results. In clinical trials, 43% of testers said that the Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil made an improvement in the visible area of stretch marks, including the depth, width and colour. Rosehip oil is chalk-full of antioxidants, fatty acids and vitamin A which all work together to improve skin texture and tone, reduce pigmentation and generally just increase the skins’ ability to produce new skin cells. - Belly band
One of the most imortant thing if we are thinking about stretch marks need to be the mechanism: why does it happen to the pregnant body? The really rapid groth of the body is streatching and tearing apart the skin. In addition to hydration support is also really important, so you want to make sure that you are holding it in. You don’t want your belly to just hang freely, because if you only think of gravitation, it doesn’t do good for your belly and your skin. Belly band is a really great product for that, you can really feel the support through the day. Find our belly band here.
