2021 Nursery Trends

2021 Nursery Trends

Attention pregnant mommies - let’s talk about nursery décor! It’s a new year (thank God, 2020 was a disaster!) which means it’s time for a new set of nursery trends to take over!  We researched and browsed through the internet and Pinterest to find the trends for this year and below is our list of the top trends we saw.  We are so excited to see these trends used this year! Happy decorating!

  1. Gender Neutral – This seems to be one of the more popular trends we are seeing for the new year, just as it was for 2020. Many parents-to-be are wanting to create spaces that work for all genders and incorporate neutral colors and textures. Natural woods and wicker are popular with this trend, almost bordering on a bohemian look.  Geometric patterns also work well with this theme.

  2. Pastels/Whites – Out with the bright rainbow-colored trends of 2020 and in with the new muted and calming colors for 2021. We love this trend because it can work great with a gender-neutral nursery as well. Choose pale shades for books and bookshelves, lamp shades and art to give the space a calming feel. Don’t be afraid to use white- just maybe limit it to things baby can spit up on, like wall color and window hangings.

  3. Forest/ Wildlife Themes – The tropical/botanical themes are out for now and have been replaced with forest/wildlife vibes! This trend from years past isn’t over yet and in 2021 we are going to continue seeing the outdoors being brought in. We love the incorporation of textured/natural wallpaper and natural-material furniture, as well as the use of birds, animals and landscapes in décor and accessories to give it a lighthearted touch!

  4. Scandinavian Inspiration- This trend isn’t really that surprising as it combines other concepts that are trending in 2021 already. It pulls in the white walls and pairs it with natural woods pieces. Play up the space with fun geometric patterns and cool textures to complete this look, also great for - you guessed it- a gender neutral nursery!
